Dear MVCC Members,

Summer is in the air!  We’ve had a great spring at MVCC, and now look forward to welcoming to our members who haven’t yet had a chance to get up to the club.   Come into the Pro Shop and find out about all of the events and programs in the offing for the next few months.

GOLF

UPCOMING EVENTS

Ringer’s Event- 6/27-8/27

Both Men and Women are encouraged to sign up for our season long Ringer’s event. A ringer event is a great way to have some fun by tracking your best personal scores on every hole. The entry fee is $10.00. All that is required from our golfer’s is to return your signed and attested scorecard to the Pro Shop and we will track your season for you. Challenge yourself and watch your scores improve!

Junior Golf

The 2018 Junior golf season is well underway. Lessons, Clinics, and golf schools have been set on the Golf Calendar. Schools as well as clinics will surely fill up quickly, please contact the Pro Shop to ensure a spot. In the case of sold out events, we will try to schedule alternative dates.

Women’s Golf Day

Women’s golf has begun. The program begins each Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. with an optional clinic. (Clinic formats vary from week to week) followed by golf promptly at 10:00 a.m.- Formats will vary each week, with fun and camaraderie being the focus. We also have a group interested in lunch after the round at the Highland Arts Center. Please contact the Pro Shop (533-7477 or [email protected]) to ensure your spot prior to every Wednesday.

TENNIS  (From Laura Laramee)

Tennis is in full swing. Lessons, Clinics, and golf schools have been set on the Tennis Calendar.  Call the Pro Shop 533-7477 or Laura 892-673-7047 for information on clinics and private lessons. 

Cardio tennis is now offered at 1:00pm daily Monday-Friday!

SOCIAL

Our first FREESTYLE FRIDAY went off this past without a hitch (Thanks to the Parrish’s for leading the event!)   Ten golfers took to the links to support the newly designed event, followed by an enthusiastic group of members enjoying a social hour on the porch following the round. The “fun” format-“Mountain View Scramble” will be a can’t miss for the summer of 2018 and beyond. Singles, Couples as well as Foursomes are welcome to this modified scramble and golfer’s of every ability should not shy away from this easy format. Tennis joins in this week as well with an hour Cardio Tennis session, after which you will definitely need refreshments! The golf/tennis rounds begin promptly at 4:00 p.m., and the social hour follows at 5:30p.m.  Come along for this great and casual way to kick off everyone’s Mountain View weekend. Call the Pro Shop for more information (533-7477) or simply stop into the Pro Shop.

Looking forward, sign up now for the FUNKY FOURTH BARBEQUE AND DESSERT THROWDOWN on July 7. Call the Pro Shop for more information, and remember that houseguests and non member family are welcome to this event. The Social committee is still looking for some volunteers in the Dessert competition! Prizes will be awarded, and junior entrants are welcome and encouraged!
