A Message from Bud Harvey

During this wonderful time of the year I thought I would share some thoughts with you and the walking ladies.
We moved to Greensboro in 1995 and Ercel immediately joined the then small group of ladies walking together in the mornings. Ercel loved the walking idea and of course the new friends she met. Many a time I thought she was crazy going out in the cold, cold weather. Through the years she did cut back walking when the weather got to the freezing zone and her face could no longer take the cold.

Not only did she enjoy the walking but the fun parties and trips such as going to Canada in the winter for an overnight stay. She has so many memories.
I think your group has to be the best idea ever for our small town. I always felt Greensboro would have been just another small out of the way town in Vermont that most people would just drive through on the way to??. You ladies are the glue that holds small towns together.
I have seen so much love given to those who need it most be it from a illness or death. I will always remember the out poring of cards and flowers sent to Ercel when she became so sick. She still has those cards in a special vase which she can see everyday as she goes about her life.
Now that life has left her behind I want thank each of you for your love and prayer you have given so freely. Merry Christmas.
Love,

Bud Harvey

A further note from Bud:

Today, Christmas Day Ercel passed away at 4:30 pm. The last few days were very difficult for her as the pain was ever present. The morphine she was given helped but were not sure it was totaling working today. The family will miss her but we know she is finally at peace.

As you know she loved the walking ladies and the fun it brought to her through sharing not only the walking but the comratery and friendship you provided her. Of course the muffins were also so good.

Bless each and every one of you.

Hi Bud – The Texas storm, Harvey, reminded me that I hadn’t thought of you two in many years. I looked Ercel up on Facebook and tried to friend her, but the next day her picture was gone. I guess I know why now. I’m so sorry. She was too young – and way too nice to go so soon!
