MVCC Kid’s Golf Camp 2019

MVCC 2019 Kid’s Golf Camp

What?            Mountain View Country Club is offering a one-week golf camp for children age 6 through 14.

When?           1 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, July 29 to Friday, August 2.

Who?             Activities will be led by nineteen year-old Kyle Wright, who has been an MVCC member since birth and was our Club Men’s Golf Champion in each of 2016, 2017 and 2018.  A four handicap golfer, Kyle’s golfing achievements include four years on the varsity golf team of Mount Mansfield Union High School in Underhill, Vermont, where he was ranked the #1 golf player on the team, named team captain, and won state-wide recognition as captain of the Vermont All-State Second Team.  Kyle also has competed in the New England PGA Junior Tour and recently finished his freshman year at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

What is

included?       Parents are responsible for bringing their children to the Pro Shop by 12:55 pm each day and picking them up by 5:05 p.m.  A typical session will include time on both our practice range and practice putting green for instruction in golf fundamentals, as well as the opportunity to get out on the course for the “real thing”.  The precise mix of instruction and actual play will depend on the skill level of our participants.  A healthy snack (fresh fruit, “Cliff” or “Kind” bars and a juice box) will be provided by the Club in the middle of the afternoon each day.

The fee covers practice balls and tees, as well the snack.  Participants should plan on providing their own golf clubs as MVCC does not have a supply of children’s golf clubs.  These can be obtained on-line or from most reputable sporting goods stores and should be sized based on your child’s age, height and golfing experience.  Friday afternoon’sw session will end with an informal barbecue (hamburgers and hot dogs) and awards ceremony.

Parents of children with dietary restrictions or special dietary needs should notify the Club at the time of application and provide a separate snack for their child each day.  Regrettably, the Club cannot administer medications.

Cost?             $50 per child.  Non-members also pay a $30 per child access fee.  Gratuities for our camp staff are not included.

Sign-up?         First-come, first served.  Space is limited and priority will be given first to children who participate in their parents’ family membership and children who hold an MVCC “Under 21” playing permit.  After Tuesday July 23, non-member children will be able to sign up if space is available.  A link to our application form can be found here and should be printed out, completed and returned to the Pro Shop.
